I got mine last night ne testing jobs Leydener bottle built and hung them on the E shocker by Paul BB´s page.
When I turn it on the bottle makes noise, but a charge when you pupst (no joke) I could not determine when I closed it shortly. The water is mixed with (much) salt.
Now for the question:
Are the sounds normal, that gives the bottle by himself?
How do I charge it the best? stupid question, but you have already rectified the shocker, or? otherwise sizzling noises always on Korona development and thus large losses suggest. Elektroshocker and suffering bottles? The Elektroshocker brings Yes nothing, is ever Corona?
As istsn eig. with a SGTC? There is Yes e.g. also AC out at the Neontrafo? huh?
But I my an Elektroshocker is simply too little, not effective! If the field strength on an edge or tip exceeds the breakthrough field strength of air, so 1000V / mm, then there are small, blue-glowing discharge called Corona. They are accompanied by a strange hissing sound of the ion wind. Corona comes almost through any insulation, is the problem because the are also hot and then damage the insulation. But streamer, are you the same basically yes then? But you have to make sure that the transistors are not hot. I have but one which you can run and is not broken. Are so-called SMD transistors (nat. from the thicker construction) I can say what type. : Halotronic HTM 105/230-240 is damn small, that says nothing about the performance (105W).
